Location: Yorktown, Virginia (United States Coast Guard Training Center)
Type: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Part-Time, Day Shift (7:30 am- 4:00 pm)
Compensation: $19.05 - $19.05/hour

Skookum is seeking a proactive and dependable Janitor with a can-do attitude.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Office Cleaning – sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule. Spot entry doors.
Cleaning halls and high traffic areas – sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule.
Cleaning entrances and exits – take out trash, sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule.
Restroom Cleaning – sanitize and clean all toilets, urinals, sinks, fixtures, partitions, walls & doors.
Dusting – dusting in lunch/coffee areas, restrooms, shower/locker areas, and dust free areas only.
Cleaning stairwells – sweep, mop, vacuum, wipe handrails according to schedule.
Cleaning portable showers – clean all shower stalls, damp wipe for dust, restock supplies, mop floors following cross contamination procedures.
Restocking supplies – restock supplies daily.
Maintaining lockers – clean and organize. Clean and rinse all equipment before storing.
Cleaning Floors – sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, carpet shampooing, waxing, and buffing.
Qualifications:
- 6 months of janitorial experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
Valid state driver license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance carrier.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
