Pay Rate: $24/hr once on Shift

Job Description

The Yard Jockey is responsible for operating a yard truck to move trailers in and out of dock doors while adhering to the company's Good Manufacturing Practices. This position operates on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule from 7pm to 7:30am, with a pattern of 2 days on and 3 days off.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and applicable laws and regulations.

  • Move trailers in and out of dock doors with the yard truck.

  • Ensure dock door safety protocols are followed.

  • Seal trailers with loaded products and maintain records.

  • Secure products in accordance with customer requirements.

  • Load and unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting devices.

  • Monitor material usage on the work floor and supply production lines with raw materials as needed.

  • Label, sort, wrap, and tie products.

  • Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting devices.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Work Environment

The role primarily involves working outside in various weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. The job regularly exposes employees to moving mechanical equipment in a loud production environment. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas. Temperatures inside the plant can vary between hot and cold depending on the season.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
