Aerotek Machine Operator in York, Pennsylvania

Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Machine Operators for various shifts. The roles include responsibilities for packaging and processing operations, ensuring the quality and efficiency of production. Shifts available include 2nd Shift Packaging Machine Operator, 2nd Shift Process Machine Operator, 3rd Shift Process Machine Operator, Day Shift Packaging Machine Operator, and Night Shift Packaging Machine Operator. Pay rates range from $16 to $23 per hour based on skill set and experience, with shift differentials available.

Responsibilities

  • Correlate production tallies with the Production Supervisor

  • Conduct packaging and processing operations

  • Maintain clear, open, and positive communication with the Supervisor and/or Lead Person

  • Follow established Sanitation/Quality Assurance/HACCP and GMP procedures to ensure product quality

  • Comply with company and OSHA safety policies

  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and machinery and perform specified cleaning at the end of product runs and shifts

  • Offer suggestions to management on improving efficiency, safety, and working conditions

  • Perform and record hourly metal detector checks, package verification checks, and weight checks

  • Ensure lot traceability and assist in inventory control

  • Maintain flexibility to perform any other duties as required, including various production roles

  • Follow all food safety and quality policies and programs

  • Report any food safety and quality concerns immediately to the supervisor or lead person

Essential Skills

  • Fundamental knowledge to read work-related material and follow directions

  • Working knowledge of assigned areas acquired through 1 to 4 years of applicable experience

  • Understanding of mechanical components and/or electronic controls of the equipment

  • Knowledge of chocolate composition and function and/or troubleshooting

  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, Supervisor, and/or Lead Person

  • Ability to perform as a team member and support co-workers, company policy, and production standards

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Production/Manufacturing experience preferred

  • Standing 8 to 12 hours per day

  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 25-50 lbs. as needed

  • Ability to see information in print form and/or electronically

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret company documents

  • Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints

Work Environment

The facility is very clean, well maintained, and comfortable, though not climate-controlled. PPE including ear plugs, safety toed shoes, jacket, hair, and beard net are required. Products include Hershey's bars, pretzels, and Unreal Coconut bars, with processes similar to other well-known operations.

This is a Permanent position based out of York, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33280.00 - $41600.00/yr.
