Summary You will serve as a Engineering Technician (Nuclear) in the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department of PSNS and IMF. ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Responsibilities You will maintain the space control program to include creating and maintaining program records for retention, identifying and resolving technical discrepancies, performing audits and surveillances to validate health of space control program. You will manage office workload and priority in order to provide efficient and timely evaluation of work for execution by space control team members. You will develop, maintain and revise space control program instructions, processes, and base requirement documents to be followed by multiple cross organizational entities. You will develop, coordinate and provide training on the space control program to all maintenance organizations who follow the space control program requirements. You will perform formal work scope review and evaluation of engineering direction a head of work execution for compliance with Naval Sea Systems Command and Nuclear Power Manual requirements. You will perform engineering pre-planning review for ship’s maintenance periods. You will provide technical direction to maintenance organizations to perform work while protecting program principles. You will provide resolution of problems concerning the repair of major components of the reactor plant and propulsion plant system. You will evaluate and resolve deficiencies of the space control program using engineering standards and principles. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical guidance on design, installation, operation, planning, and maintenance on space control (aircraft carrier) evaluations using engineering standards and principles. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
