Purpose
A Manufacturing Technology Engineer is responsible for assisting in the architecture, engineering, and administration for Simplot’s Global IT standard operating environments. Installs, configures, maintains, and integrates system software and hardware components in compliance with IT standards and security guidelines. Other responsibilities include:
Facilitating the interactions between control systems and enterprise IT.
Proactive monitoring and metrics of systems and services on a global basis to ensure high availability and performance for seamless business technology operations.
Performance, availability, health and recoverability of Simplot IT systems.
Researching, evaluating, and recommending new and emerging technologies to meet Simplot business needs.
Creating and maintaining detailed system documentation.
Collaborating with other IT teams to ensure platform capabilities and functionality align with our customer demands.
Delivery of high quality und user support to ensure effective and efficient operating environments are provided.
Key Accountabilities
Configure and maintain company provided equipment (laptops, workstations, phones, printers)
Configure and maintain iOS devices
Maintain and update conferencing equipment onsite and remote (if required)
Ensure the onboarding/offboarding of new staff members at site(s). This includes components of asset/lifecycle management.
Maintain factory reporting systems.
Assist to analyze, resolve and perform root cause analysis for serious systems failures that impact the performance or functionality of Simplot systems.
Document IT policies, procedures, and standards related to supported systems.
Ensure compliance to IT standards, policies and software licensing.
Assist in ensuring the operational health of a mission-critical environment across a Global IT infrastructure.
Identify opportunities to improve and automate work to improve outcomes and reduce cost.
Install, configure, maintain, and integrate system software and hardware. Monitor and tune systems to improve performance.
Support site engineering teams with factory systems maintenance.
Track and report on all team key metrics.
Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
Work with key vendors to engineer and support Simplot IT and business solutions.
Provide high quality general IT support to remote and onsite staff.
Simplot (China) Food Co., Ltd. is the J.R. Simplot Company’s only production and processing center and strategic management center of the company in China, the HQ was settled in Ningxia Yinchuan, with marketing and sales branch in Shanghai. Its products mainly serve the China and other Asian Market, which aim to make lasting contribution to the development of the Chinese potato industry.
Summary
This role applies the basic foundation of a function’s principles, theories and concepts to assignments of limited scope. Utilizes professional concepts and theoretical knowledge acquired through specialized training, education or previous experience. Exercises independent judgment within defined parameters. Develops expertise and practical knowledge of applications within business environment. Acts as team member by providing information, analysis and recommendations in support of team efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Participates as a member of development team.
Performs basic analysis of functional requirements.
Completes code stubs prepared by more senior developers. Participates in code review.
Prepares and executes Unit tests under supervision.
Applies growing technical knowledge to maintain a technology area (e.g. Database Administration). May perform solution design.
Applies appropriate technologies to infrastructure and software solutions of moderate complexity.
Implements end- user or enterprise infrastructure or services prepared by more senior technologist.
Typical Education
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Other Information
0-2 years’ experience in writing code such as, and not limited to, Java, C, C++, C#, VB.Net; databases like SqlServer/ Oracle. Basic understanding of RDBMS and Database scripting. Basic understanding of testing tools and test scripting. Experience of one or more full release cycles. Basic understanding of modern software development methodologies (Object). Basic understanding of modern software development tools and SCM (software configuration management). Basic understanding of Software Test methodologies, test scripting and testing tools. Understanding of Basic Database Administration. Good verbal and written communication skills.
