Fairview Health Services Casual Rehab Assistant - Fairview Lakes Region in Wyoming, Minnesota

Overview

As a Rehabilitation Assistant (RA), you are one of the first to help patients! This is a casual position and excellent opportunity to gain operational experience if you are pursuing a career in rehabilitation, or if you have curiosity and want to learn more about the field. The RA is an essential team member supporting customer service and business operations. Through collaboration, we support the delivery of services to patients receiving outpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, edema services and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.

This position will give you experience with a check-in desk, a call center for appointments, following up on insurance related questions or order requests, facilitating correspondence to medical professionals, handling queues for regulatory related forms, supporting supply management and cleaning department equipment.

  • Flexibility to work at various Fairview Lakes Rehab locations including; Wyoming, North Branch, and Chisago

  • Schedule: casual position - willing to pick up shifts, pending availability and department needs. Shifts vary from 8 hours to 10 hours

M Health Fairview Rehabilitation offers a broad range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs.

Responsibilities Job Description

The Rehab Assistant performs clerical work for the Rehabilitation Services department. This includes, but is not limited to, answering telephones, faxing, scheduling, greeting, arriving and registering patients, obtaining demographic information, insurance verification, chart preparation and filling and verification of daily charge sheets, data entry of medical information.

Maintains and orders supplies for patient care and office using the established systems, and facilitates department cleanliness.

Performs routine cleaning of the department in setting up patient’s arrival and cleaning areas after treatment, stocking supplies.

Provides excellent customer service by communicating effectively and respectfully with patients, families, visitors, physicians, community, referral sources and Rehabilitation Services team.

Demonstrates strong patient focus and gives positive representation of the Rehabilitation department to other departments and customers.

Offers ideas to improve systems’ efficiency, cut costs, increase quality and productivity, improve communication, and be an active member of a process improvement team.

Qualifications

Required

One year medical office experience

Preferred

High School diploma or equivalent

One year hospital or clinic front office experience with electronic scheduling, registration and Microsoft Office and Outlook

Certified Nursing Assistant
