Location: Grand Rapids, MI SUMMARY Manages Sales and Distribution activities of territory by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures. Promotes safety awareness, accident prevention, and employee involvement with regard to a safe work environment. Ensures employees understand the safety expectations of the organization. * Responsible for sales activities of the branch office territory. Assigns and oversees sales personnel in territory and all potential sales leads and activities in the marketplace. Analyzes assigned territory for sales potential of assigned products, analyzes and sells diverse customer bases consisting of distributors, municipalities, and some large contractors. Maintains current customer base and develops additional sources for sales. Provides accurate sales forecasts. * Responsible for knowing individual product strategy. * Recommends staffing, training, and performance evaluations of employees reporting to the Branch location for the development and control of sales initiatives. * Responsible for generating and monitoring communications including, but not limited to, expense reports, sales call reports, competitive price reports and products complaints. * Responsible for the collection of accounts receivable from EJ customers and development of effective business relations between EJ and customers. Communicates with Credit Manager on all current and potential receivable problems and assists in the collection of the accounts. * Represents EJ in local marketplace through involvement in industry trade groups, product shows, product training to customers and other duties assigned. * Recommends budget, expenditures, and appropriations for the Branch location. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises employees reporting to the Branch location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with EJ policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating, rewarding, and disciplining employees where appropriate; addressing complaints and resolving problems. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.A) from four-year college or university with 5 years of progressive sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
