About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Programme/Project Controls Manager to lead the management and optimisation of Cost Reporting & Forecasting, Schedule Management and Change Control in collaboration with our client and our internal project management team.

You will provide support to multiple cross-functional teams, driving the execution and management of effective project controls measures that relate to scope, time, cost, and quality. Reporting into the Head of PMO, the postholder will ensure that all works and outputs are delivered consistently and in line with both contractual and business requirements.

The role will play a vital part in enabling that all deliverables and tasks within the portfolio of work remain within their approved time and cost envelope, ensuring that the programme remains aligned to the clients’ strategy and affordability.

The successful candidate will be supporting the Workstream Lead and the delivery team and foster strong relationships to openly providing performance insights, promoting a consistent and comprehensive sets of measures which capture progress, successes, and areas of focus against core deliverables. This will involve motivating and co-ordinating the team with tactical and strategic support to achieve objectives and tangible outcomes.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Ensure the integration of all functions of cost, change, risk, and program management, both internally and externally

  • Identify and manage trends, issues, risks and change and follow the processes to manage them.

  • Influence a range of senior internal and external stakeholders, managing critical relationships to ensure all parties are informed and aligned on delivery requirements and expectations.

  • Support Programme delivery teams and Workstream lead in developing and managing high quality monthly reporting in a consistent standard.

  • Work with the Centralised PMO to direct, define and lead the development and continuous improvement of framework processes and delivery outputs in accordance with the contractual requirements.

  • Ensure performance by leading the definition and implementation of a vast scope of works, managing multidisciplinary teams, and working to strict timescales to ensure delivery standards and outputs meet client expectations!

  • Review and analyse project schedules and direct the development and management of regular status and progress updates to internal and external senior leaders on key programme deliverables.

  • Take a leadership role by task managing a small Project Controls team that delivers PMO excellence across all disciplines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong leadership skills, experienced in leading teams and advising senior colleagues to enable delivery of our business goals.

  • Established expert and advanced project controls professional with a track record of delivering projects to time and cost quality standards across all stages of a project lifecycle.

  • Proven track record of implementing effective schedule management and change control processes.

  • Good understanding of NEC contracts

  • Demonstrable skills to exert influence, with the ability to challenge and drive momentum across all levels.

  • Strong knowledge of best practice policies, processes and procedures required to execute a strong, effective management framework.

  • Demonstrable experience in the use of KPI's to measure delivery quality and productivity.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with well-developed presentation style and experience of senior level presentations
