Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge blood glucose monitoring technology for use in both home and hospital settings, including our revolutionary Freestyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System.

In our Centre of Excellence in Witney, we design, develop and manufacture test strips and biosensors which are used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes.

As a result of strong business growth, industry-leading product development in the biosensor business and a long-term commitment to manufacturing and innovation in our Witney Centre of Excellence, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Audit Team Leader to join our expanding highly skilled team.

The purpose of this role will be to supporting and lead assigned internal audits, supplier audits and external audit processes. This position will manage and support compliance gap management activities including regulatory /standards tracking and other compliance gap management activities.

The core responsibilities of this role will include: assessment of the Division’s Medical Device quality systems worldwide to determine whether the quality system is in compliance with the established requirements and regulations and to evaluate its effectiveness.

• Lead/support assigned Divisional quality system internal/clinical/supplier audits for compliance to ISO13485:2016, MDR, IVDR and all other applicable global medical device Quality System requirements, to maintain timely closure of the audit cycles

• Support Audit Readiness activities for external audits including training staff/guidance in preparation of external audits

• Support compliance gap management activities e.g. compliance risk management

• Identifies risks to the division and resolutions to address compliance gaps.

• Strategise and prioritize the compliance gaps and track them to the closure

• Provides guidance to the SMEs in closing the compliance gaps

• Assist management of near miss program

• Track regulations and industry standards revisions. Evaluate and communicate the impact of these revisions with the related departments and follow up compliance to these revisions.

• Prepares/ reviews/analyses the metrics data

• Promotes awareness and understanding of quality & compliance within the division. Provide training to the division to increase the compliance awareness

• Participate/Manage the compliance initiatives and other assigned projects
