Location: Bromborough, Wirral

Shift: 12-hour shift – Average 39 hours per week – 1 weekend in every 4. Full shift pattern can be discussed with you at interview stage.

Salary: Circa £50,000

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to join the maintenance team to enhance our focus on reliability within the Bromborough factory. You will possess excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrate an ability to establish root cause and eliminate re-occurring issues.

A day in the life of…a Maintenance Reliability Engineer

At Cereal Partners we are passionate about ensuring the customer receives a perfect quality product, at the right time and place. To meet this demand and deliver against supply chain and customer service targets, our engineers strive to ensure that our assets operate with high efficiencies and reliability whilst always ensuring safety and food quality.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop into a SAP/GLOBE maintenance superuser to facilitate support of maintenance data, technical documentation and asset structure systems.

  • Raise purchase orders and resolve invoice blocks associated to reliability engineer role.

  • Represent the reliability engineering function at the weekly site planning meeting.

  • Play an active part in our daily and weekly Engineering reviews.

  • Play an active part in TPM PILLAR meetings contributing to the future success of the site.

  • Provide technical support to engineering and operations teams to help them understand the factory and functional priorities.

  • Actively drive to root cause and support and coach the team to eliminate reliability issues and decrease PM01 activities.

  • Deliver direct support, focus, direction, and co-ordination of the maintenance focused improvement team.

  • Support department and site audits as required.

  • Identify, develop, and deliver new maintenance procedures to increase reliability, quality, and Safety.

  • Arrange and manage contractors as required for role.

  • Work closely with maintenance planners to ensure timely resolution and scheduling of remedial and proactive work.

  • Drive and support the use of BDA and AMM mobile to ensure issues are correctly captured and developed into opportunities to eliminate root cause of engineering issues.

  • Use DMO data and other measures to identify areas of opportunity for improvement.

  • Run reports to demonstrate the areas for opportunity and build solid plans to address the issues identified.

  • Along with other team members, identify opportunities to eliminate failures through use of capital improvements.

  • Along with maintenance planners, create new PM03’s to address reliability issues.

  • Monitor breakdowns & stoppages in DMO daily and use problem solving techniques to minimize equipment stoppages and improve eUPS.

  • Present on daily basis the last 24 hrs stoppages and challenges and actions planned to improve performance.

  • Review planned maintenance program and update the maintenance plans to support performance.

  • To transfer technical knowledge and develop the skills of the operators through effective coaching.

  • To provide technical support to the Maintenance Technicians, Team Managers and Engineering management as required.

  • Follow up on closing red tags generated and provide support needed to close in timely manner.

What will make you successful?

  • This is an exciting opportunity to develop this new role at our Bromborough Factory for candidates with strong technical and leadership skills.

  • Minimum of five years in a factory maintenance role.

  • Formal mechanical or electrical qualification in engineering. ONC/ HNC/ HND or degree preferred.

  • Evidence of great leadership skills and an ability to resolve complex engineering issues.

  • Good solid understanding of food manufacturing processes developed over several years.

  • Computer literate with good basic skills on SAP / GLOBE systems.
