PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Working in a 24 x 7 environment, the Coordinator Border Operations (BOC) oversees tactical border reporting activities to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency for the movement of CPKC’s cross-border trains and shipments. The BOC directly interacts with US and Canadian Border agencies and internal CPKC partners to provide seamless cross-border service. In addition to other activities, the BOC provides leadership and guidance to internal staff responsible for rail and shipment reporting activities and captures and reports daily border metrics. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Work directly with US and Canadian border regulators, brokers, and shippers to ensure the seamless movement of cross-border traffic

  • Provide active guidance to CPKC Border staff to ensure error-free and tactical cross-border operations

  • Investigate, manage, and resolve border exceptions

  • Act as a point of contact and escalation for internal stakeholders involved in cross-border traffic

  • Ensure process accuracy and supplemental tariff application

  • Maintain, manage, and issue daily border metric reports

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities through solution development and implementation

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree and/or equivalent experience in a transportation environment

  • 2 years of relevant railway, regulatory, or cross-border transportation experience

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives with tight deadlines

  • Ability to innovate, solve problems, and manage conflict

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish; an asset

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite

    Management Conductor Program:
