Alamo Group Inc. Quality Manager in Winn, Michigan

Position Summary:

The Quality Manager is responsible for overall development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS).

Essential Functions of the Job:

  1. Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal and regulatory/legal requirements.

  2. Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, quality systems and quality improvement initiatives.

  3. Oversee inspection (examination) of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet requirements.

  4. Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products.

  5. Lead a team of Quality engineers, inspectors, auditors, analysts, and technicians.

  6. Report to Management on the performance of QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.

  7. Conduct periodic management review meetings.

  8. Oversee product recalls.

  9. Provide Quality related training to drive cultural change.

  10. Work with Engineering to create and process engineering changes

  11. Liaison with other departments to address warranty related quality issues and process RMA’s.

  12. Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.

  13. Maintain current awareness of applicable standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.

  • Understanding of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 140001 etc. implementation.

  • Experience with lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in engineering or science field.

  • Previous management experience in manufacturing and quality assurance.

  • Five years’ experience working in a manufacturing facility.
