As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will take the lead in planning and executing technical designs, system integration, and comprehensive risk and compliance assessments. What YOU Will Do:

  • Architect system configurations to meet end requirements. Conduct trade studies to identify the preferred final solution

  • De-compose high level requirements into detailed lower-level requirements to support component definition and selection

  • Support successful integration of Collins designs with external test or field installation hardware/software

  • Conduct verification activities including compliance matrix population with associated risk assessment

  • Collaborate with cross functional IPD teams, program management, customers, and suppliers to effectively meet program objectives

  • Lead and coordinate system development efforts while fostering the growth of less senior team members

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required , as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

  • Travel up to 20% time may periodically be required to support program needs

  • Ability to obtain a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Preferred educational background/focus in Systems, Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering

  • Prior experience with fuel cell or electrolysis systems

  • Experience with systems containing valves, pumps, compressors, fans, heat exchangers, mixers, separators, sensors, and storage tanks

  • Previous submarine or spacecraft experience

  • Previous knowledge and/or experience with U.S. Navy

  • Strong focus on teamwork, team building, and employee development

  • Ability to obtain a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
