TLD- America Production Supervisor (2nd Shift) (Windsor, CT) in Windsor, Connecticut
The Production Supervisor, reports directly to the Production Manager (PM), and is responsible for the following essential functions: Supervises, trains, evaluates and disciplines department members per the union contract; and TLD safety, quality and manufacturing policies Review work orders, product specifications, and drawings for scheduled work assignments and direct on-time completion, including coordination between assembly and testing departments Communicates production milestones to Group Leaders, coordinates schedule status and changes with planner(s) daily; and reports production status to the factory leadership while maintaining accountability for achieving production goals Requisition tools, supplies, and equipment for the departments; provides recommendations for specialized tooling/machinery to improve safety, quality and throughput for existing and/or new products and processes Maintains buildings and equipment, as directed Other assignments as designated by the supervisor Management Responsibilities Responsibilities Manage a team composed of direct and indirect employees, with at least: Electricians, mechanics, testers, inspectors, & painters Group Leaders, responsible for safety, quality, throughput and achieving objectives while leading the above employees Implement the standards and procedures for continuous improvement (CIT) Sets the expectation for reaching the Safety and Quality goals; and ensures they are achieved Directs the review of quality issues raised during inspections through "CRAB filtering"; agrees on, and ensures these continuous improvements are implemented Ensures Quality, Lead-time, Performance and Safety dashboards are displayed and updated Maintains updated technical and supervisory skills through training, special technical and administrative courses; seminars, exhibits and trade shows, as needed Other tasks as required by CEO/COO/PM of the BU To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The general requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required: Five (5) years of experience in manufacturing/industrial engineering Degree in industrial or manufacturing disciplines or equivalent combination of education and experience English speaking and writing capabilities; knowledge of other languages desired.
