Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

Responsible for performing advanced production activities on all saws, including vertical, horizontal, and other types. The role involves reviewing work orders, choosing correct materials, positioning work pieces, determining processing specifications, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Candidate will be using various forklifts to grab materials. Looking for someone who would be open to driving company vehicle to make deliveries as well. Training is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders, tooling instructions, or other written specifications.

  • Choose correct material for the job according to the work order.

  • Position work pieces for processing, which may involve operating a combination of different saws.

  • Determine processing specifications such as materials, location of cuts, forms, sizes, surface conditions, material defects, dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences.

  • Install and align specified cutting blades or other fixtures using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, or hand tools.

  • Adjust controls to set cutting speed, depth, and feed rates.

  • Operate saws during processing based on workload or business needs.

  • Measure and examine pieces using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, scales, and squares to ensure conformance to specifications.

  • Perform In Process Quality Inspections and quality control inspections on finished products per AS 9100 quality control standards.

  • Clean equipment according to designated maintenance procedures.

  • Diagnose problems, make necessary adjustments, and remove scrap from the machine.

  • Coordinate and execute material handling.

  • Complete work order paperwork/documentation.

  • Restock material.

  • Mark identification on material/work pieces before processing and after processing, store material for additional processing and/or shipping.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Essential Skills

  • General production and machine operation experience.

  • Knowledge of CNC Bandsaw operations.

  • Experience in material handling.

  • General labor and machine operator experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • High School diploma/GED preferred.

  • Experience in warehousing and material handling preferred.

  • Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting saws preferred.

  • Experience with overhead crane operation preferred.

  • Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination.

Industrial work environment with overhead cranes. Safety is critical, and candidates will wear appropriate safety gear.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Windsor, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
