POSITION SUMMARY: The Area Sales Manager's primary role is to develop, maintain and grow the commercial relationship with TLD and out military customers by promoting TLD products and monitoring the support and services continuously supplied to them. The ASM operates under the rules defined in the TLD Organizational Rules and he/she has the role to ensure the application of those rules. The ASM develops business in the strict respect of the Ethical code of ALVEST/TLD and enforces it also with all agents or distributors he/she may be in contact with. The position reports to the TLD Business Unit's Director of Sales and Service (DSS) and is considered a key member of the Sales and Service organization as they are the primary interface between TLD and the Customer. Essential Functions: Being the focal point with the Customer and ultimately responsible for their satisfaction in TLD. Ability to develop multi-level connections within a customer organization and document hierarchy Influencing Customer buying decisions by learning the Customer needs and matching them to TLD products and services. This includes: Understanding the TLD products and their technical and commercial advantages vs the competitors' products, in order to present them most favorably. Review of the Customer Specifications to insure our product is capable of meeting those requirements. Responding to RFIs, SS, RFP and RFQs using the various online government systems such as SAM.GOV Interface with the Factory Product Support Managers to develop proposals and presentations Understanding the market share in his or her region for each product line and the reasons for it. Diligently and rigorously Forecasting the Market and Customer pending needs proactively and communicating it to the TLD factories in a quantified way through the Sales Forecast Record (SFR) system. Read, understand and documents Government Contract Language including FARS and DFARS and how they apply to TLD. Processing orders to the factories precisely thru the TLD web based tools Work directly with the Customer Service Manager, the Spare Parts Manager and the factory Product Support Manager to insure rapid and high quality field support. Provide continuous feedback to DSS and factories regarding TLD product weaknesses and potential improvements (through the Product Demerit Claim (PDC) system) Provide continuous feedback on market and competitors through the MIM module. Manage the credit risk in accordance with TLD operating procedures. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree required, with a technical or business degree a plus Experience with Industrial equipment and Mechanical aptitude helpful. Must be a relationship builder with the ability to be immediately credible with, and accepted by key customers Must be a self starter who can work independently, is driven by personal goals, and is accessible to customers and leadership team Must have superior presentation skills and the ability to confidently present the technical and commercial features of the TLD product lines thru various presentation medi
