Overview
As an ER Nurse at CHI Williston Health, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you’ll be the first touchpoint to the people in our community during health emergencies.
No two days in emergency nursing are ever the same. You’re a multitasker who can react quickly as you’ll prioritize patients based on their medical necessity while you’re providing emergency triage to others. As part of our ER team, you’ll partner with an experienced clinical team to deliver stabilizing care to our patients by performing IV starts, foley catheter insertions, or aiding providers with chest tube insertions.

We are offering a $20,000 Sign-On Bonus in addition to relocation to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
Responsibilities
Performs triage by assessing patient’s health and continuously monitor; detect changes in symptoms, health or pain, and take action as necessary; and quickly and accurately assess patient care needs
Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol
Sets priorities in plan of care based on assessed needs and anticipates personnel, supplies, and equipment required to care for patients based on assessed needs
Works collaboratively with provider to provide exceptional care
Administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments in compliance with policies and procedures
Provides patient and family education
Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
Maintains order, stock, and cleanliness of all areas in the Emergency Department
Practices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policies
Utilizes resources appropriately and follows facility guidelines, policies, and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Graduate of an RN nursing program.
Required Licensure and Certifications
Licensed by the State of North Dakota Board of Nursing (RN)
Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certification for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
6 – Month Grace Period
Certification for Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
6 – Month Grace Period
Certification for Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
12 – Month Grace Period
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Strong oral communications skills
Ability to deal with conflict and difficult people
Strong critical thinking skills
Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and their standards and processes
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Pay Range
$33.60 - $48.73 /hour
