CAE USA INC Simulator Flying Instructor - Hawk 127 in Williamtown, Australia

About This Role

This role will be responsible to the Air Combat and ISR Program Manager and will report to the Hawk Lead Instructor for provision of training, administrative and subject matter expertise support applicable to Introductory Fighter Course (IFC) and Weapons System Operator (WSO) training and liaise with other resident instructional staff.

Based solely at 76SQN, RAAF Base Williamtown; there is no expectation of deployed operations or requirement to support ADF exercise planning or management activity elsewhere. CAE’s ADF Reserve Service Policy also allows the individual to take full-day ADF Reserve Service leave to contribute to 76SQN Flying Instructional duty, if suitably qualified.

The role we are offering you:

  • Deliver simulator instruction to IFC and WSO students; specifically, instruction of tactical events flown on 76SQN.

  • Conduct mission briefs and debriefs as appropriate.

  • Evaluate and document student performance and progress during training sessions using ULTRA.

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of training material that supports syllabus delivery. This involves the ability to use CAE’s suite of synthetic entity programming and mission/scenario development ‘WYSIWYG’ tools which will be taught over time.

  • Communicate with simulator maintenance technicians to report identified simulator unserviceability.

  • Complete all initial and recurrent training activities required to establish and maintain Simulator Instructor qualification in accordance with 78WG Standing Instructions. This is by means of a biennial simulator instructional assessment by the 78WG FICA as observer to a teaching event.

  • Communication of any customer training problems and/or conflicts to the Hawk Lead Instructor.

    Our ideal candidate has:

  • Hold, or ability to gain, a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or recognised equivalent ACG instructional experience.

  • Hold, or have held, a Military QFI or OFI qualification.

  • Possess qualifications and experience necessary to be able to be authorised by CO CFS, or delegate, as a competent Simulator Instructor.

  • Minimum 1000 hours on Hawk or similar fast jet aircraft.

  • Previous instructional experience for the Hawk 127, or similar fast jet aircraft

  • Experience as a flight simulator instructor will be highly regarded, but not essential.

Security requirements

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
