Comprehensive Interventions Day Treatment Qualified Professional in Williamston, North Carolina

Position Summary:The Day Treatment Qualified Professional must have at least one year of experience with children or adolescent mental health consumers. This individual will work with consumers to reduce symptoms, improve behavioral functioning, increase the individuals ability to cope with and relate to others, promote recovery, and enhance the childs capacity to function in an educational setting.

About The Program:This service is designed to serve children who, as a result of their mental health or substance use disorder needs, are unable to benefit from participation in academic or vocational services at a developmentally appropriate level in a traditional school or work setting.

About You

The ideal candidate must:

  • Be currently licensed by the appropriate North Carolina licensure board as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Psychiatrist, Licensed Psychologist or a Licensed Psychological Associate, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in mh/dd/sa with the population served OR
  • Have a master's degree in a human service field plus one year of full-time, post-graduate degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional (with a master's degree in a human service field) who has one year of full-time, post-graduate degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; OR
  • Have a bachelor's degree in a human service field plus two years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional (with a bachelor's degree in a human service field) who has two years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; OR
  • Have a bachelor's degree in a field other than human services and has four years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional (with a bachelor's degree in a non-human services field) who has four years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct care to clients within the day treatment setting.
  • Convenes the Child and Family Team for person-centered planning.
  • Participates in the ongoing revision of the Person Centered Plan and ensures its implementation.
  • Provides psychoeducation (information about consumers diagnoses and effective interventions) to parent/caregiver, school personnel, and other agencies involved with the consumer.
  • Monitors and documents the status of the recipients progress and the effectiveness of the strategies and interventions outlined in the Person Centered Plan.
  • Monitors the provision of services and supports.
  • Assesses the outcomes of services and supports.
