INTERMETRO INDUSTRIES CORPORATION Production Associate, NC Punch Operator in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania

The Production Associate, NC Punch Operator, supports the manufacture of Metro products by preparing sheet metal stock for application to finished product.  Theh primary function is the operation of the NC Punch, with additional duties involving the operation of other sheet metal fabrication equipment. Associates are required to have the ability to perform all job duties within the department to support various functions. Attention to detail is required and all associates must meet standards for acceptable production and quality. Candidates selected for these positions must successfully complete screening requirements and a 50-working day probationary period. Job opportunities are currently available on a variety of shifts . Please note that these opportunities are part of a bargaining unit rooted in seniority principles. Consequently, shifts are not guaranteed. Applicants should be available to work any shift.

Job Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates NC punch press.
  • Check parts' dimensions using precision measuring equipment.
  • Reads and interpret blue prints.
  • Must be computer literate, so as to recall, load and modify part programs as per the machine programming language.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Meets production and quality standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Cleans and maintains work area.
  • Must be available to work overtime as business needs dictate.

     

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Maintains regular attendance
  • Experience working in a team-based environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience using a punch press machine.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
