NiSource Planner Renewable Maintenance in Wheatfield, Indiana

Job Summary

The Planner Renewable Maintenance works closely with Renewable Maintenance Supervisors and work management system(s) to schedule and create job packets for preventative maintenance activities for multiple renewable generation facilities to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance are upheld to the highest standards. The role also manages inventory of spare parts. The Planner also works with Contract Managers and Original Equipment Manufactures on the development, submission, and follow-up of warranty claims.

Essential Functions

  • Develops maintenance plans and work packets at an appropriate level of detail considering the size, complexity, and criticality of the job. Work packets shall consist of material/parts listings, procedures, drawings and equipment clearance requests.

  • Coordinates maintenance work schedules, across multiple renewable asset sites, with maintenance groups to ensure maintenance requirements to support reliable and efficient plant operations are addressed.

  • Understand and process claims for failed equipment under warranty. Work with OEM on spare parts and coordinate exchange of warranty items.

  • Develops complete cost and labor estimates for all maintenance tasks assigned to crews or the backlog to support the work management and budget process.

  • Develops work scopes and bid specifications for work performed by contracted resources. Manages projects performed by outside contractors in accordance with the Nisource Contractor Health, Safety and Environmental Manual 3.0.

  • Performs real time cost tracking of work packets to ensure scopes of work are completed within budget.

  • Assists in development of capital and O&M budget initiatives necessary to ensure long-term reliability of critical generating equipment.

  • Works closely with NIPSCO Supply Chain resources on material and contract labor procurement issues and dispute resolution.

  • Assists operations in monitoring equipment and troubleshooting.

  • Assumes duties of maintenance supervisor during absences due to vacation, illness, or special assignment.

  • Responds to emergency needs outside of normal scheduled hours.

Required Qualifications for Position

  • High School Diploma

  • 4+ years Experience in Power Generation, Maintenance Planning, Industrial Maintenance, and/or Operations

  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems High

  • Ability to work within a team setting encouraging collaboration High

  • Planning and Organizational Skills High

  • Proficient in working with Spreadsheets and word processing software High

  • Technical competence and understanding of the process of electric power production Medium

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Medium

  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

  • Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, or Engineering Curriculum

  • 4-6 years Planning or Scheduling Experience

  • 4-6 years Experience working with Maximo, SAP, or other Asset Management Software

  • 1-3 years Experience working within a Union Environment

  • 1-3 years Renewable Energy

Salary Range:

$91,000.00 - $136,600.00
