Job Description:

Responsible for the development, maintenance and administration of debt and leases, including compliance with loan agreements, assisting with annual budget of interest and lease expense, financial analysis, presentations and daily maintenance of several corporate programs.

Note : There is one position available, and this position will be filled at one of four job grade levels: Corporate Finance Analyst I, job grade 5, Corporate Finance Analyst II, job grade 7, Corporate Finance Analyst III, job grade 8 or Senior Corporate Finance Analyst, job grade 10. This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate and Tri-State business needs at the time of hire.

Senior Corporate Finance Analyst

Hiring Salary Range: $110,000-$150,000

Corporate Finance Analyst III

Hiring Salary Range: $86,000-$116,000

Corporate Finance Analyst II

Hiring Salary Range: $78,000-$105,000

Corporate Finance Analyst I

Hiring Salary Range: $65,000-88,000

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education and/or skill level.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation and review of financial and related documents, including offering documents, bond documents, SEC documents, and filings.

  • Prepare analysis of specific financing alternatives, buy vs. lease analysis, asset liability management and other financial analysis as required.

  • Assist with preparation and development of presentations and materials to be provided to investment banks, commercial banks, lenders, rating agencies and other parties.

  • Assist with maintaining records of all financing and related activities.

  • Maintain economic and statistical information and produce reports as needed.

  • Maintain records related to loan contracts including interest accruals and amortization schedules and prepare appropriate journal entries and payment vouchers.

  • Establish, document, and maintain all appropriate procedures for loans, leases and other debt and related obligations, including procedures for Sarbanes Oxley compliance.

  • May assist with the development, maintenance and administration of corporate finance management and accounting systems.

  • Assist with the development and administration of the debt and lease management function annual budget and monthly financial forecast.

  • Maintain contacts with appropriate financial institutions and governmental agencies to facilitate debt and lease arrangements.

  • Flowchart and document all procedures.

  • Adhere to company policies, programs and procedures as well as Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), and Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO) standards and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws and regulations.

  • Because Tri-State is an electric utility with continuous service obligations to its customers, regular, reliable, and predictable performance of the essential functions and responsibilities is an essential function of the job.

Qualifications:

Education and Training

  • BS/BA Finance, Accounting or other related field or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Working knowledge of finance techniques including amortization schedules, interest calculation and present value.

  • Working knowledge of PC's with a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to perform detail work with high degree of accuracy.

  • Knowledge of accounting concepts desired.

  • Ability to work independently.

Experience:

  • Eight (8) or more years (or equivalent combination of experience and education). Note: The above requirements describe the experience and education qualifications for the Senior Corporate Finance Analyst. Those with less experience will be hired at the I, II or III job grade level.

Other:

  • Willingness to travel as required.

DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Finance/accounting/contracts experience, including a working knowledge of debt instruments preferred.
