Amazon is seeking a proven technology leader to drive reliability and testing of automation technologies to help Scale product. The Design for Scale Reliability Engineer supports Amazon Mechatronics and sustainable packaging Engineering in the development and testing of Robotics/Mechatronics systems, Packaging Automation, and Sortation systems. This position requires the ability to innovate, analyze, plan, organize, implement, and manage process and reliability improvement projects to maximize safe, economical, and effective use of materials, energy, and people.
In order to join our robotics development center team, we are searching for an hardware reliability engineer for product development space. This role follows the product's reliability lifecycle from concept development, hardware reliability testing and confirming and improving product confidence in hardware reliability. You will work with many teams with lots of ambiguity in order to manage growth of product. This role requires the ability to maintain a high pace to complete projects and to handle different teams with a clear understanding of the goal of reliability from the early stages
Basic Qualifications
Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
Experience in Design for Reliability (DfR) for new product developments.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial)Certified Reliability Engineer (ASQ or TUV).Python for Data science is plus.
Experience as a Reliability Engineer or in a similar role
Develop engineering, design, and production verification test objectives based on the identified reliability risks and failure modes.
Proficient in reliability engineering principles, methods, and tools (e.g., Reliability prediction, FMEA, DOE, Weibull analysis)
Proven experience of manufacturing processes and their impact on product reliability
Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute design for reliability process for product design from concept to production
Master’s degree in Engineering or a related fieldCertified Reliability Engineer (ASQ or TUV).
Experience in the product development and manufacturing process.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionallyExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
Working knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949)
Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, JMP and Weibull++)
Experience with Design Validation Plan & Report (DVP&R) development
Knowledge of python coding for Weibull analysis and other reliability analytics
