About the Position: Serves as Inventory Manager responsible for the overall scope of operations required for control of the Reimbursables Inventory for the Cadet Services Branch and associated equipment in providing direct supply support to West Point major activities. Responsibilities Providing oversight over the requisitioning, receipt, and storage of a wide variety of stock items. Reviewing and processing procurement requests for supplies requiring frequent technical intervention to ensure requirements are met. Researching and analyzing product costs and available sources. Performing continuous stock position analysis to ensure the correct materiel and authorized quantities are available to meet current and future needs Plans for special projects, demands, and training. Determining the best vendor and method of procurement based on cost, shipment times, and other technical factors such as interchangeability and equivalency of systems. Preparing reports and information for meetings. Completing or ensures completion of receiving reports, monthly BPA submissions, and follow-up actions, amendments to contracts and other actions required to ensure timely receipt of specialty items/services and prompt payment to the vendors. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Utilizing supply regulations, policies, and/or procedures to support the procurement of items; (2) Assisting with various types of inventories; and (3) Using office automation software/equipment related to supply management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
