Substitute Custodians needed for the West Mifflin Area School District and the 2024-2025 School Year.
Candidates should be flexible enough to work at any of the schools in the district. These are day-to-day substitute positions. If the candidate is already working, these positions are often flexible enough to supplement the candidate's schedule.
Full-time work is often available, especially if the candidate is open to working in other nearby school districts, including the Bethel Park, Brentwood Borough or West Jefferson Hills School Districts. (In the unlikely event the candidate is not seeing enough work in one district, the candidate's schedule can often be filled in with shifts in another district. However, the school districts do not offer overtime.) Some positions may be considered "temp-to-hire" as the district may look to hire some candidates on a full-time basis. Custodian hours are typically second shift between the hours of 2:30pm -11:30pm, however, there are some daylight shifts that may become available from time to time. It is preferred the qualified candidate has reliable transportation as most schools in the district are not easily accessible by bus. All interested individuals should have some experience.
Custodians - $14 - $18.20 per hour, depending on the district
Clearances required within the last year:
- PA Criminal Background Check
- PA Child Abuse Clearance
- FBI fingerprints through the Dept. of Education
- Act 126 Clearance (online Mandated Reporter training)
- Arrest/Conviction Record form (Act 24) and Act 168 clearance (Precision will provide these forms for the candidates to complete)
- Pre-employment physical and TB test required (neither should be more than 1 year old)

Additional Requirements:
- Must have either a HS diploma or GED
- It is preferred candidates have some experience in custodial/janitorial work, cleaning, hotel/housekeeping, etc.
