Paychex Buyer in West Henrietta, New York
Overview
Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, obtains equipment and materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need; studies market trends, interviews vendors and recommends sources of supply; analyzes quotations received, recommends suppliers with whom orders are to be placed and schedules deliveries; prepares orders and follows up order to expedite delivery and shipment; obtains certifications of delivery and conducts check against order; checks and approves for payment invoices for orders placed; develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operation.
Responsibilities
Negotiates, sets-up and reviews national accounts programs to ensure they are meeting Paychex needs and standards.
Analyzes product ordering and usage trends to project future blanket agreement quantities for inventory items.
Works extensively with PC Group in obtaining quotes for personal computer related items such as hardware, software, and supplies. Makes decisions based upon price, availability and services.
Reviews all Capital Asset requisitions to ensure they are in the approved budget. Approves certain out of budget purchases or obtains required approval. Posts all items in capital budget book after processing.
Coordinates, implements and supervises the maintenance of all purchasing records and Oracle systems.
Responsible for the training, development and supervision of all Purchasing Assistants.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in
6 years of experience in Related field.
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $57,400.00-$90,200.00 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
