Are you passionate about swimming and eager to inspire the next generation of swimmers? HealthFitness, in partnership with the Cornerstone Aquatics Center, is thrilled to offer exciting opportunities for Assistant Swim Coaches at our state-of-the-art 25,000 sq. ft. facility in West Hartford, CT.

As an Assistant Swim Coach, you will provide direct leadership, instruction, and motivation to our swim team participants. You will attend swim meets and team functions throughout the year, ensuring a clean, safe, and positive environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities:

• Assist head coach in creating thorough, age-appropriate workouts focusing on technique, endurance, stroke development, and practice drills.

• Participate in structured practices in weekday evenings throughout the year.

• Assist head coach with administrative matters relating to the team, swim meet arrangements and team performance as well as interaction with parents

• Help to record all workouts and track daily attendance.

• Assist in coordinating and executing swim team competitions and meet registrations and recording times and collecting other relevant data at swim meets; attend swim team events such as meets, meetings, social events, etc. at the direction of the head coach; assist in swim team social event planning, as necessary.

• Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment.

• Assist in stroke clinics (if any) offered between competitive seasons.

• Participate in coach training opportunities offered by the head coach.

• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe and positive environment for swim team participants.

• Additional duties as needed or assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possesses (or can obtain upon hire) USA swimming coaching credentials.

• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of swim skills and have a strong foundation in stroke mechanics and be able to communicate effectively with swimmers and their parents.

• Will work on evenings and weekends at swim meets.

• Enthusiastic, dynamic presence with good communication skills.

• CPR for Professional Rescuer, AED, and First Aid certifications or willingness to obtain.

• Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.

Preferred:

• 1+ years swim coach experience.

• 18 years of age or older.

• 3+ years’ experience as a competitive swimmer; collegiate competitive swimming experience.

Compensation: $16.50/hr - $23.50/hr. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
