This role will be responsible for evaluating, developing, and implementing new or improved manufacturing processes to execute innovative, sustainable, and cost out goals. You will be required to plan, direct, manage and coordinate engineering personnel involved in the development of new products or the enhancement/value engineering of existing products. Our ideal candidate possesses strong technical engineering knowledge, strong leadership skills, and experience in managing complex projects internally and with development partners. The candidate would love to create new products, learn about new technologies, understand user needs and are often thinking about better ways to optimize them.
Your Role on Our Team:
Lead low to mid- level advanced manufacturing projects, providing direction, guidance, and engineering expertise to team members.
Help facilitate project flow involving regular contact with engineering, manufacturing, and other cross functional teams.
Work with and steer development with equipment suppliers to deliver custom processing solutions to achieve goals and targets.
Perform a variety of calculation and software-aided analyses to prove process reliability, capability, and sustainability.
As a subject matter expert, you will provide technical leadership for the team, and drive manufacturing excellence through new processes and methods that will improve safety, reduce product cost and improve product quality
Understanding of cost drivers and how to mitigate them through advanced manufacturing techniques
Create, maintain, and package robust documentation packages for responsible development activities and work with manufacturing team to verify alignment regarding collected information and support the pre-production activities for processes.
The TOOLS you'll bring with you:
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
A minimum of 3 years of engineering related experience.
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD -- NX, Solidworks, or similar
Proficiency in FEA (Static, Dynamic, Thermal and Fluidic modeling)
Deep mechanical aptitude, including a broad knowledge of manufacturing process related activities such as fixture design, metal working, stamping, forging, injection molding, machining, automated assembly, polishing, and grinding.
Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:
Strong analytical skills, knowledge, and experience in process evaluation tools: Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical data analysis, risk analysis, flow layout and other related engineering tools.
Knowledge to draw preliminary sketches and prepares layout and detail drawings, using standard computer-assisted design software (NX or SolidWorks).
Advanced computer knowledge and skills using MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Project, and Solidworks/AutoCAD/NXAbility
Able to set up, repair, adjust and troubleshoot production automation, industrial robotics equipment and interface devices.
Have an understanding of PLC driven control systems and be capable of interpreting ladder logic programs.
Travel Requirements:
