The Town of Webster is seeking Summer Intern(s) to assist the Engineering and Community Development departments in various capacities. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: inventorying and updating the Towns sanitary and stormwater management infrastructure and associated records; reviewing sites for compliance with the NYSDEC's Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) program; reviewing construction sites for local code compliance. This position will provide hands on experience and exposure to the Towns sanitary and stormwater networks, utilizing a variety of ArcGIS technology to inventory and provide specific data on town wide assets. The Town offers a dynamic work environment that includes both office and field work and the opportunity to shadow other roles such as Building Inspector, Town Planner, Construction Inspector, Sewer Treatment Plant Operator, and Highway Laborers.

This is a 40-hour per week seasonal position scheduled to take place from mid-May to mid August (flexible) between the hours of 8:30 AM 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Typical Duties: (but not limited to) o Assist the Engineering, Highway and Sewer Departments with creating, editing and verifying town-wide infrastructure data o Work with a variety of professionals, including engineers, surveyors, planners and other town staff to assist with a variety of planning and engineering related tasks o Inspection and data collection of detention ponds, outfalls, culverts, sanitary and storm water pipes, manhole locations, other town infrastructure, and private development o Assist with Stormwater Pollution Protection Plan Inspections o Scanning and archival of as-built drawings / records management o Technical assistance and research activities relating to the Town's comprehensive plan update project. Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate(s) will have 2 years of college course completion in any of the following majors: o Civil Engineering o Urban and Regional Planning o Environmental Management o Geographic Information Systems (GIS) The ideal candidate(s) will also possess the following: o Ability to read and understand maps and drawings o Strong organizational and communications skills o Strong sense of direction and wayfinding abilities o Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills o Strong work ethic o Ability to multi-task while still exhibiting attention to detail Minimum Qualifications: o Must be at least 18 years of age o Must have a High School Diploma or GED Special Requirements:

o A valid NYS Class D Drivers License o Ability to work in a variety of settings, both in an indoor office environment and in an outdoor setting with prolonged exposure to environmental factors
