Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing system software and applications within the General Imaging (GI) Ultrasound business. Lead projects that require in-depth domain knowledge in specialized architectural areas of the General Imaging Ultrasound software area. Provide direction, guidance and definition of architecture programs that effectively support the Ultrasound Business. Work with Product Managers to understand product requirements and vision. Contribute to the feature roadmap, analyze and design feature implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state. Review, analyze and develop technical requirements. Apply in-depth knowledge of product related technologies, technology platforms, and advancements. Identify the scope of the work and provide initial estimates. Develop, and evolve software while providing technical guidance to junior developers using agile methodologies such as Scaled Agile.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree*, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), and 8 years of related software development experience. *Employer will accept the equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree based upon a combination of education and experience. The position also requires: 6 years of experience working with software platforms, advanced applications or systems engineering; 4 years of experience in source control and configuration management tools such as Perforce, GIT, or ClearCase; 5 years of C++ software development experience; 4 years of experience analyzing, designing, and developing software features and implementations plans for enterprise software solutions; and 4 years of experience providing architectural and technical guidance to junior developers with using agile methodologies such as Scaled Agile. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report/appear into/at GE Medical Systems, Ultrasound & Primary Care Diagnostics, LLC offices in Wauwatosa, WI.
