Eaton Corporation Continuous Improvement Technician Intern in Waukesha, Wisconsin

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Technician Intern to join our team on Badger Dr. in Waukesha, WI! If you are a current student pursuing an education in engineering, a skilled trade, or other related field, this is an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience and knowledge!

The hourly rate for this position is $22.30 per hour + $2.50/hr shift premium for working off-shift hours. This role will work about 20 hours per week based on the candidate's school schedule.

What you’ll do:

The primary function of the Continuous Improvement Technician Intern is to support the Continuous Improvement Team by implementing identified improvements. This is a hands-on position in the manufacturing operations areas.

In this function, you will:

  • Use hand and power tools to hang boards, assemble racks, and help with other small projects as required.

  • Support 5S+ Program by labeling bins and racks, posting and checking audit sheets and other documents, cleaning floors, railings, and equipment, painting and taping floors and other surfaces to color code for visual management.

  • Participate in 5S Kaizen Workshops

  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Current enrollment in a college-level program pursuing an engineering, skilled trades, or other related degree from an accredited institution

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-duty military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel).

  • Pursuing a career in engineering or skilled trades

Skills:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with little direction and effectively operate in a team-oriented environment.

  • Basic math skills including using a tape measure.

  • Attention to detail

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Understanding of problem-solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. 5 Why’s root cause analysis, Pareto charts, Control Charts, etc
