As an Account Manager- Industrial and Mobile, you will have the responsibility to lead some of Generac's most important clients to achieve short and long-range strategic objectives through successful planning and execution of sales strategies. You will work cross-functionally with other Industrial and Mobile sales channels within Generac and be responsible for taking a pro-active approach to sales and effectively managing your sales territory through relationship building and meeting the external customer’s needs. This position will report to the Sales Operations Manager.

Essential Duties:

  • Oversee the implementation of an aggressive and comprehensive sales strategy to support the company’s objectives and business plans, including consistent growth and profitability through new product introduction and brand recognition.

  • Establish account goals, measure results, evaluate resources and put development plans in place as needed.

  • Manage day-to-day operations activities between outside sales, production, and aftermarket while maintaining excellent customer service

  • Handle complaints and problems in a timely and effective manner

  • Grow sales of existing and new products by strengthening account relationships.

  • Manage outstanding account receivables

  • Maintain backlog and shipments of designated customer orders

  • Maintain understanding of rapidly changing competitive environment to minimize threats and capitalize on new opportunities.

  • Act as SAP Super User within functional area as assigned

  • Special assignments as directed by the Industrial Solutions leadership team

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • 2 years experience in sales or marketing

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective negotiation skills with the ability to understand a complex sales process and direct closure strategies

  • Working knowledge of OEM / Distribution model

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce or comparable CRM

  • Working knowledge of SAP or comparable ERP system

  • Previous experience in project management and/or customer account ownership

  • Previous experience in the power generation, heavy equipment, or industrial equipment industries

  • Ability to convert metrics into meaningful information;

  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills;

  • Excellent communication/presentation skills.

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft office with strong skills in Excel
