Abbott Senior Director, Medical Devices SAP Lead in Waukegan, Illinois

THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Senior Director, Medical Devices SAP Lead (processing an annual sale of $10 Billion and supporting 20+ manufacturing sites) will provide leadership to expedite, manage and coordinate a multitude of inter-related strategic and program related activities to globally modernize the manufacturing and supply chain IT landscape across Abbott Nutrition. The position will work directly with Strategic Business and Executive IT management to establish project goals and business cases. The position will build a new ERP team and will have responsibility to manage projects with annual spend of $40+MM over the next 7 to 10 years.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:
Lead meeting facilitation with Executive management members (EVP, VP’s, DVP’s) to assist in determining strategic IT direction for Abbott Nutrition manufacturing and Supply Chain systems.
Assess degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect projects working with division, group or senior executive management and sponsor, to gain agreement for resolution.
Experience in hiring and building a high performing team that can deliver complex ERP programs (30+ headcount)
Manage an annual spend of $40+MM and ensure that the ERP programs are on track and within budget.
Ability to influence Senior stakeholders in the organization to adopt best in class and standardized business process.
Measure performance to assure the program and its projects are progressing as compared to original plan and budget.
Lead Sr Leadership teams in developing and executing a program plan ensuring that authorized resources are obtained to make certain that all activities are performed. Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders.
Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to program team, ancillary project teams, Division Cross-Division, Group and Executive Management.
Maintain compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Position Accountability / Scope:
- Position has enterprise-wide IT and US / International scope. Works with Executive level management leaders to influence outcomes in support of IT strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer science or related discipline required. MBA preferred.
Global SAP ERP implementation as the scope includes developing establishing multiple high value programs in the ERP landscape
Knowledge of next generation and digital ERP transformation (S/4HANA).
SAP architecture and business functional knowledge
Ability to translate complex business processes into best in class SAP ERP system solution
knowledge of Life Sciences business, preferably in IT & International
enterprise thinking with ability to build credibility within the organization
time management
Knowledge of advanced supply chain complexities and solutions offering in the domain.
Proven leader with capability to build high performing teams.
Financial management with experience in managing projects with a spend of higher than $40MM/year.
strong interpersonal skills (i.e. communication adaptability, meeting facilitation, negotiation, mediation, conflict management)
ability to successfully adapt to changing requirements.
Must be comfortable with ambiguity, demonstrate strong writing, problem solving and creative thinking skills, and ability to work effectively with conceptual structures, outlines and models.
Proven experience and knowledge in commercial, manufacturing and supply chain process to provide the leadership to a matrixed organization of Abbott employees across medical device business, independent contractors, and strategic sourced consulting services to deliver the most complex ERP program. This requires the capability to oversee highly diverse activities, multiple stakeholder groups, significant scope, schedule and resources.
Strong project management skills and have responsibility and accountability for formal program level management
Responsible for overall delivery of the program that will span multiple teams and solutions.
12+ years of project delivery experience
Advanced expertise in several integrated business processes across multiple major business functions primarily in areas of scope aligned with their assigned program responsibilities
Advanced expertise in SAP S/4 HANA process and deployment.
High knowledge and experience in integration of non-SAP with SAP systems, both internal and off-the-shelf software
Knowledge of latest IT capabilities in a regulated manufacturing space.
Experience in working with regulated applications in a life science environment.
Experience in resolving complex business, system, change management and program delivery challenges
Experience in project management of projects and large matrix teams responsible for scope, schedule, quality, resource management, stakeholder management, etc.
Strong experience in facilitating resolution of cross-team integrated topics
Strong expertise in project delivery methods, tools and templates
The base pay for this position is $188,700.00 – $377,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
