The City of Watertown is seeking highly qualified transfer applicants to fill anticipated PoliceOfficer positions. The City of Watertown Police Department and its officers pride themselves onmaintaining a safe environment for residents and visitors with a philosophical focus oncommunity policing and problem solving.TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS• Candidates must be eligible for transfer or reinstatement as a Police Officer pursuant § 58and § 70 of New York State Civil Service Law.• Candidates who have current employment or past employment within 12 months, as apermanently appointed competitive class Police Officer with a municipality within NewYork State.• Permanent appointment must have come from a civil service eligible list establishedpursuant to New York State Civil Service Law.• A valid New York State Class D driver license or equivalent must be submitted with yourapplication.• Please Note: The burden of establishing qualifications to the satisfaction of the CivilService Commission shall be upon the applicant. You must clearly describe on yourapplication exactly how you meet the minimum qualifications for appointment. UnitedStates Citizenship is required at the time of appointment. Candidates will be required toprovide a New York State Driver’s license before the time of appointment, as well as anyother required proof of education, military service, or combination of both.
