Job Summary:

As part of our continuing growth in this high technology market, Teledyne DALSA is recruiting for a Cost Accountant in Waterloo!

The Cost Accountant/Analyst will be reporting to the Digital Imaging Controller. and will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Implementing cost standards for materials, labour and overhead.

  • Monitoring unit cost variance by reviewing bi-weekly purchase price variance reports.

  • Preparing revenue, COGS and margin analysis reports.

  • Reconciling raw materials, WIP and finished goods.

  • Updating bookings and backlog reports.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Providing analysis of manufacturing cost variances.

  • Reviewing, analyzing, and updating standard costs.

  • Co-ordination/documentation of quarterly obsolescence and reserve reviews.

  • Assisting with yearly inventory counts

  • Warranty reserve analysis and review.

  • Quarterly audit requirements and reports.

  • Assisting in SOX documentation pertain to operations.

  • Heavily involved in process improvement initiatives.

  • Supporting various cost accounting special projects.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in a similar role

  • A good understanding of cost accounting with inventory experience in a manufacturing or high tech environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the position requires working closely with multiple groups within Teledyne

  • Proficient skills in Excel and ERP systems.

  • The successful candidate will preferably have/CPA or equivalent designation.

  • Must be a self-starter who is efficient and well organized.

  • Detail orientated.

  • SAP experience would be an asset
