Job Description

As a Business Systems Analyst, you will communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with other teams to understand business needs\goals, design solutions in accordance with standard processes, assess impacts to downstream or peripheral systems, and carry out the solution delivery. We will provide you with support from a dynamic agile team that prides itself in getting things done together.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will be accountable for the following:

· Conducting meetings, reviewing documentation, connecting with multiple collaborators across the organization to understand objectives and clarify the needs or impacts to our systems.

· Drafting high-level designs that guide the generation of technical stories and estimation of delivery timing.

· Breakdown of designs into technical user stories and supplementary documentation that help direct engineering solutions and test automations meet the success criteria you've defined through your needs\impact analysis.

· Organizing and coordinating delivery of stories and other engineering tasks in a manner which supports incremental delivery.

· Collaborating with product, other analysts, engineers, architects, and other team members to collect and create artifacts (i.e., stories, test results, approvals, etc.) required for an accurate, timely, and reliable implementation.

· Coordinate ongoing service, maintenance/ post implementation.

· Prioritizing tasks for multiple concurrent initiatives for yourself and others.

· Performing functional testing to identify and retest defects to ensure successful completion.

· Working with team members to analyze and identify root cause of system defects.

· Finding opportunities for optimizing system effectiveness, as well as refining and adapting our agile processes to deliver changes more efficiently.

· Building and maintaining an organized repository of system documentation.

Qualifications

· Post-secondary education (preferably Computer Science) or equivalent work experience.

· 4+ years consistent record as a Business Systems Analyst, or as a Software

Engineer with prior similar accountabilities

· Mainframe / Open Systems (JavaScript) background

· Experience with: Cobol, DB2, CICS, VSAM, JCL, SAS, Endevor and Control-M

· Experience working in an Agile framework.

· A meticulous mentality with deep technical, analytical, conceptual, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.

· Solid written and verbal communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills.

· Good Analytical Skills, copes with complex situations through deliberate analysis and planning.

· Ability to negotiate effectively when clarifying needs vs. wants/likes to balance business direction/requirements with cost of development and risk.

· Strong planning and organizational skills to self-manage and assist in running delivery schedules for multiple parallel initiatives.

· Desire to mentor others in terms of analysis, collaboration, and organization, most specifically using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

· Confirmed experience learning new business processes, technologies, and tools at a rapid pace.

· Ability to use analytical and decision-making skills to offer options and resolve problems in a variety of contexts.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Waterloo, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between

$74,270.00 CAD - $137,930.00 CAD
