Position Purpose:

Through theory-based practice, the RN utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement and evaluate outcome-based care for a select group of patients. The RN facilitates communication with physicians, patient and family, other departments and/or team members. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

What you will Do:

Conducts an initial and ongoing assessment to gather and analyze data. Identifies patient short and long-term goals and develops them into an outcome based plan of care. Implements an outcome based plan of care. Evaluates patient response to treatments and modifies the outcome based plan. Educates patient and family to meet identified needs Plans discharge. Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit, which may include:

Birth-28 days: Neonate

1-18 Months: Infant

18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler

3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged

6-12 Yrs: School-Aged

12-18 Yrs: Adolescents

18-65 Yrs: Adults

65+ Yrs: Geriatrics

Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior. Work collaboratively with the Breast Center to assist in Genetics program by drawing blood samples as needed.

Hours/Schedule:

36 hours per we

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree of nursing, BSN preferred, current Iowa RN license.

High language, intermediate math, high reasoning ability. Ability to work with diverse groups of people. Ability to work under pressure and with a large degree of independence. Computer skills required. Ability to prioritize multiple, simultaneous tasks.
