Set Free Alaska is looking for a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to join our award-winning team. This is a 24 hour facility so hours vary based on position. Qualifications:

Required:

• The ability to:
  • Acquire Chemical Dependency Counselor II (CDC II, NCAC 1 or QAP equivalent certification within three (3) years from hire
  • Pass a drug screening and State of Alaska background check
  • Qualify for SFAs commercial automobile insurance
• A current valid drivers license

Skills required:

• Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
• Punctuality and consistent reliability in reporting to work
• Understanding of being trauma informed and aware of cultural differences
• The ability to:
  • Be a team player, demonstrating motivation, exercising discretion and dependability
  • Be a model to people in recovery
  • Build rapport with clients and staff while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Maintain confidentiality and treat everyone with dignity and respect
  • Manage situations that cause intense distress and work to ensure the safety and well-being of themselves and other staff
• Basic computer skills and fluid use of electronic communication tools

Job responsibilities:

• Support:
  • Clinical staff with filing, copying, faxing, medication monitoring, providing client transportation to appointments, shopping, and outside community activities
  • Clients by modeling healthy relationships that encourage sobriety and living a life in recovery
  • Clients in developing conflict resolution skills to address conflict that arises within the community
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients while maintaining healthy and professional boundaries, interacting with the clients in a manner conducive to their safety, dignity, privacy, and security
• Monitor the clients cooperation with house rules and report inconsistency to program coordinator or program manager and document in the communication log to ensure the programs house rules, policies and procedures are followed

``` - Model and teach clients life skills including, but not limited to: personal care/hygiene, laundry, housekeeping, shopping/budgeting, and meal preparation - Provide comprehensive community support services by participating in daily program activities such as facilitating groups and completing appropriate digital documentation - Drive clients, utilizing their personal vehicle at times, for client support. (When proper documentation is submitted, vehicle use reimbursement is provided at the IRS mileage rate) - Assist with food preparation and serving, cleaning, and teaching clients appropriate cleaning strategies - Maintain confidentiality of all information as it relates to the position - Monitor and document client self-administration of medication
