Sr. Solutions Architect (Remote)

This position is a remote position with some travel required.

KBR is seeking a Sr. Solutions Architect to support our Business Development Department for our Science & Space division

The Sr. Solutions Architect (SSA) will be the key technical solution leader supporting business development and the capture team. The SSA works with operations and business development personnel to understand customer needs and lead the development of compelling solutions to those needs. The SSA will be responsible for recommending appropriate technical solutions and alternatives and ensuring those solutions meet requirements and are properly described, documented, and communicated across the business development and operations teams. The SSA will work with operations and technical SMEs to understand existing capabilities, approaches and challenges and leverage them into proposal solutions and offerings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Operations and Business Development to understand customer needs and challenges.

  • Lead development of innovative technical solutions and offerings in support of major capture efforts.

  • Lead and provide strategic guidance during the solution development process to ensure bridging of the gap between our clients' challenges and the benefits available from company’s solutions and services.

  • Develop solutions that address customer issues and meet customer needs while balancing cost, schedule, functional and other business requirements.

  • Create white papers, presentations, and marketing material to support marketing and business development customer interactions.

  • Provide solution subject matter expertise to support customer and senior management briefings.

  • Stay abreast of KBR capabilities and industry / technology trends and identify those that can be integrated into new, unique solutions.

  • Provide technical expertise to assist capture strategy and development of proposal themes, discriminators, and value propositions.

  • Act as technical liaison between operations and capture teams.

  • Support program management and business development reviews.

  • Develop estimates of costs for labor, material, and other expenses as required for proposed solutions.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates must meet the requirements listed below to be considered for this position; please include required items on resume.

  • This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, a master's degree with 10+ years of experience, or 20+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Demonstrated success as a technical lead with a strong understanding of relevant technical areas.

  • Proven track record of working on proposals and captures.

  • Experience as a technical volume lead for a proposal and in leading the development of solutions for proposals including developing staffing approaches and basis of estimates.

  • Experience in writing for white papers, RFI responses, and proposals.

  • Experience in customer engagements.

  • Development and/or Operational program experience.

    PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Industry certifications will be considered in augmenting years of experience.

  • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary systems engineering and/or product development team

  • Experience in running trade studies, product evaluations, or research projects.
