Chenega Services & Federal Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services ’ company, is looking for a Senior AI/ML Services Consultant with 5-8+ years of experience to join our team of IT experts at the Federal Housing Finance Agency's (FHFA) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). As a member of our advanced engineering team, you will provide expert knowledge to teams of experienced engineers across the enterprise. You will engage and lead best-in-class technical solutions for complex enterprise Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning development and infrastructure efforts across multiple cross-functional areas. You will work closely with various teams, including Cloud Services, Cybersecurity, IT Operations, Program Management, Network Engineering and Administration, Disaster Recovery, Data Center Operations, Cloud Engineering, Data Architecture, and Data Engineering. This position will require the candidate to work in Washington D.C. up to 5 days a week, though it is considered hybrid and there may be some telework days. This role is currently funded for a 6 month period, April 2025 through September 2025, with the possibility of being extended.

Responsibilities
Architect and develop complex AI models and systems, including machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and deep learning frameworks. Some areas of expertise we are looking for are: Risk based Supervision, Loan Quality Control, Fair Lending Compliance, Early Warning Systems, Automation of Regulatory Compliance, Loan Servicing Oversite, Consumer Complaint Analysis, Monitoring of Markets, Lender Performance Evaluations, and Predictive Analytics.
Create scalable and efficient AI solutions and models that meet business objectives and user needs.
Provide input, design expertise, and architectural review of data, AI/ML, and BI pipeline development
Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in AI and machine learning.
Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance AI capabilities and performance.
Work with our team and the customer’s team of AI engineers and data scientists, and provide guidance and solutions on technical challenges.
Oversee specific AI project timelines, deliverables, and ensure that projects align with strategic goals and requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including our federal customers, software engineers, and data scientists, to define requirements and ensure seamless integration of AI systems.
Communicate complex technical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
Help design and implement robust data pipelines for collecting, processing, and analyzing large datasets.
Ensure data quality and integrity, and address data-related challenges in AI model development.
Optimize AI models for performance, scalability, and efficiency, including fine-tuning hyperparameters and improving training processes.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI systems in production, and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
Develop and execute rigorous testing protocols to validate AI models and ensure they meet quality standards.
Implement best practices for code quality, documentation, and version control.
Address ethical implications of AI technologies, including fairness, transparency, and privacy concerns.
Ensure that AI systems adhere to relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Document AI development processes, methodologies, and model performance.
Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations on AI projects and research findings.
Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance technical skills and stay abreast of industry trends and advancements.
With approval, attend conferences, workshops, and seminars relevant to AI and machine learning.
Help with Agency adoption of AI technologies and governance of generative platforms.
Qualifications
A 4 year college degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or equivalent work experience performing similar functions.
Post graduate course work in AI/ML/Data Science preferred
5-8+ years of professional software development experience using one or more of the following languages in a AI/ML or data analytics environment: Python, R , Rust, Java, C++, SAS, SQL.
Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), deep learning, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, clustering and segmentation, decision trees and random forests
Professional Experience with one or more of the following frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-learn
Experience developing Cloud Computing and DevOps workflows: AWS (SageMaker, EC2, S3); Containerization
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A willingness to continuously learn and develop professionally.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with ability to pivot from a given plan when necessary
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and execute on a day to day basis
Final salary determination based on skill-set, qualifications, and approved funding.
