As a Human Resources Specialist (Classification) GS-0201-12/13, your typical work assignments may include: Serving as a technical authority for classification, position management and organizational management for an agency; Coordinating and carrying out special position classification studies that assures full compliance with OPM regulatory requirements; Ensuring all regulatory requirements and operations workflows of an agency's classification program; and Reviewing decisions from classification appeal process and determines the extent to which the decision affects classification within the agency. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GS-12 Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the GS-12, Human Resources Specialist (Classification), and that is typically related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes: Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to resolve issues or perform projects concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of classification program operations; Ability to make decisions, resolve problems or discrepancies based on knowledge of personnel processing rules, regulations, and procedures; Experience reviewing decisions from the classification appeal process; and Experience researching, analyzing, and evaluating position classification and position management laws, regulations, directives, and policies. GS-13 Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the GS-13, Human Resources Specialist (Classification), and that is typically related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes: Experience coordinating and carrying out special position classification studies that assures full compliance with OPM regulatory requirements; Experience providing advisory services regarding position classification and position management; Experience reviewing decisions from the classification appeal process and determining the extent to which the decision affects classification within an agency.; and Experience researching, analyzing, and evaluating position classification and position management laws, regulations, directives, and policies and recommending changes that would improve operations and processes. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS GS-12 Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year of experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service is required to qualify for the GS-12 grade level GS-13 Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
