ASRC Federal AFSS is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking an Expert Program Planning & Scheduling Analyst to support a NASA contract in Washington, D.C.
Job Description: Provide expert-level Program Planning & Scheduling support to the Earth Science Division Flight Program at NASA Headquarters.
Responsibilities:
ESD Flight Missions Support
Support the Earth Science Division (ESD) in the continued operations of NASA Earth science missions in coordination with the Earth Systematic Missions Program Offices and Earth System Science Pathfinder Program Office to ensure continuity of science data for monitoring and understanding the changes in the Earth system leading to societal benefit.
Support ESD in developing mission operations strategies consistent with the President's budget for the Earth Science Decadal Survey and integrating it into the Program Implementation Review process. This includes coordination of plans for on-orbit maintenance, calibration, and operation of Earth Science missions, with a focus on missions addressing Atmospheric Science.
Support the reviews associated with transitioning new missions into operations, including involvement in the formulation, implementation, and operation of satellite missions.
Support the reviews associated with transitioning missions prime mission phase into extended mission operations.
Support coordination with the Office of International and Interagency Relations for the international activities and functions, and the Space Asset Protection Program (for continued safe mission operations).
Support ESD in regular program and project management activities, e.g., developing and maintaining program-level upcoming events schedules, monthly flight program reviews, mission reviews, science symposiums, etc.
Attend and support operating mission science team meetings, mission operations reviews, SMD External Payload on the ISS Community of Practice meetings, and other meetings as required.
Travel in support of mission reviews and anomaly resolution activities as required.
ESD Reporting and Organizational Support
Support ESD in preparation for presentations to various committees, organizations, and public briefings, as needed.
Generate responses, track and/or coordinate program correspondence, action items, etc., as needed.
Support ESD participation at meetings, as needed.
Develop and provide the Government with an up-to-date travel plan for this task.
Documentation Support
Develop weekly highlights and Program Executive and Research & Analysis Staff Meeting inputs as required.
Review project documentation, provide feedback, and route for approval as required.
Develop Flight Program Review inputs, including financial and risk assessments.
Document support to the ESD and other support provided under this Task Order.
Requirements:
Ability to quickly grasp NASA project lifecycles and requirements.
Strong analytical skills and knowledge of the activities involved in building and testing flight hardware and space flight project management.
Strong Microsoft Office skills and knowledge of scheduling software tools, i.e., MS Project, Primavera, Milestones Pro.
Individual must have strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills and have the ability to work successfully with all levels of technical and project management.
Ability to manage time, prioritize work, and meet varying reporting deadlines and priorities.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as with a team in a fast-paced environment.
PMI Project Management Professional or Schedule Professional certification highly desired.
Compliance with NASA and Goddard Space Flight Center regulations and procedural requirements is mandatory.
Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of related professional experience or 15+ years of related professional experience in lieu of degree.
