Amentum Estimator in Washington, District Of Columbia

The Estimator is responsible for activities related to estimating all the elements of project cost including labor (manual and non-manual), materials and permanent equipment, supplies, consumables and expenses, and construction equipment rental and operating costs, contingency, escalation, program risk, etc.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing the estimating framework, systems, and resources to deliver an effective estimating service to Project Managers, Program managers and Senior Leaders.

  • Leading the provision of quality estimates for all project phases and stages.

  • Determining the quality of information provided for the compilation of estimates and the suitability and classification of estimates to be prepared.

  • Advising the project and program teams on all aspects of estimating.

  • Monitoring and auditing the quality of estimates (and associated underpinning), including subcontractor submissions.

  • Overseeing the hierarchy of estimates within their area and assess the implications of implementing changes.

  • Supporting the PCM and SPCM in peer reviews process and checking of estimates approval.

  • Supporting the Commercial department in analysis of tenders and fair price checking and subsequent analysis of supply chain submissions prior to inclusion in estimates.

  • Supporting the analysis of project outturns against baseline for LFE and Knowledge management.

  • Ensuring the accuracy of data communicated and reported to all Stakeholders.

  • Highlighting any current or potential issues to the PCM, SPCM and Project and Program Managers.

  • Maintaining compliance with approved processes, procedures, and systems.

Minimum Requirements

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance, engineering, or business administration or demonstrated equivalent of education, training and 5 years industry experience estimating Facility Maintenance projects and/or planning and scheduling experience.

  • Candidates must possess great work ethics and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with interruptions and still meet deadlines.

  • Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter capable of working independently and as a member of a team.

  • Excellent organizational skills vital.

  • High proficiency in MS Excel and Internet research
