Job Title: Enterprise Data Architect Location: Washington, DC (On-Site) Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI Clearance Job Type: Full-time Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Data Enterprise Architect. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of data architecture, reference architectures, data mesh principles and experience developing data reference architecture documents, models, and plans. The candidate should bring the ability to explain and implement the best data architecture practices found in the government, public, and private sectors while being an objective, informed partner for government leaders who rely on your insight and subject matter expertise to advance the government’s interests in data architecture. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the enterprise data architecture, ensuring consistency, scalability, and security across the organization.
Design and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices for data management.
Lead the integration of data systems, ensuring seamless interoperability across multiple platforms.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including senior leadership, IT teams, and mission users, to define and implement data strategies.
Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, including cloud-based solutions, AI, and machine learning for data analytics.
Ensure compliance with federal data security standards, including FISMA, NIST, and DoD regulations.
Work closely with cybersecurity teams to implement secure data architecture solutions.
Support data migration efforts, including modernization initiatives transitioning from legacy systems to cloud-based platforms.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams and junior architects.
Required Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI Clearance (CI Poly preferred but not required).
10+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture, data governance, or related fields.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Extensive experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data warehousing solutions.
Strong knowledge of data modeling (Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), Data normalization techniques), database design (SQL/NoSQL), and ETL processes.
Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka,
Proficiency in data security best practices, encryption techniques, and access control models.
Expertise in industry frameworks such as TOGAF, DoDAF, and Zachman Framework.
Familiarity with government regulations and compliance requirements, including NIST 800-53, FISMA, and CMMC.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, etc.).
Experience with AI/ML data applications in a classified environment.
Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles.
Experience supporting DoD, IC, or federal agencies in a data architecture role.
