Accounting Specialist Senior - Remote
Job Description
The Senior Accounting Specialist serves as a primary point of contact for escalated accounts receivable or accounts payable account maintenance and inquiries. This position performs moderate to complex accounts receivable or accounts payable account analysis and research.
Responsibilities
Analyze moderate to complex member and third party vendor accounts receivable or accounts payable accounts to ensure that all transactions have been properly recorded and adjusted as directed
Provide work direction to Accounting Specialists, resolve escalated member issues and complete quality assurance checks
Prepare daily and monthly reporting tracking workload and status reports for leadership
Apply knowledge of benefit plan information, operational procedures and accounts receivable or accounts payable processes to answer all types of accounts receivable or accounts payable inquiries
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve complicated member and third party vendor account issues; communicate directly with members and third party vendors as required
Coordinate with banking institutions and vendors to resolve any outstanding accounts receivable or accounts payable issues
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED
2 years of accounts receivable or accounts payable experience
Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Effective written and oral communication skills
Commitment to preserving confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PPT, Excel)
Minimum Physical Job Requirements
Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear
Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Reporting Structure
- Reports to Manager in the Finance Department
Potential pay for this position ranges from $20.43 - $29.09 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
