Summary This is an IT Project Manager position located in the Civil Division, Office of Management Programs, Office of Information Technology. This is a two-year term position with the option to extend incrementally up to 4 years. You will serve as the Project Manager for the development and deployment of a new claims management system, a publicly accessible IT system that includes an external portal for claimants to file and track their claims and include an internal application to process claims. Responsibilities As an Information Technology (IT) Project Manager, GS-2210-15, your typical work assignments may include the following: Providing oversight of the provision of one or more IT projects and/or services to the public, including the effective implementation of the project and the accomplishment of the DOJ mission, goals, and objectives. Overseeing the implementation of security controls and measures to protect the IT project's infrastructure, applications, and data assets, ensuring compliance with DOJ policies, regulations, and industry standards such as NIST, FISMA, and HIPAA. Leading the strategic planning and successful execution of the IT development and implementation. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and address information security requirements and any vulnerabilities within the IT framework, ensuring highly sensitive data's (including significant PII) confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Working with the Contracting Officer's Representatives and Contracting Officer's Technical Representatives to ensure mission objectives and performance matrices are met Developing and implementing program policies, plans, guidelines, and ensures legal, policy, and regulatory compliance during each phase of the life cycle. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for the position of IT Project Manager, (GS-2210-15), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to the series and grade you are applying to. Basic Requirement: To be found fully qualified, applicants must posess a current Project Managment Professional (PMP) certificate prior to the closing date of the announcement. Applicants must submit a copy of their certificate as part of the application. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-15 Information Technology Project Manager position, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level performing duties such as: overseeing IT projects; Identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues with IT projects; leading the strategic planning and successful execution of IT project development; overseeing the implementation of security controls and measures to protect the IT infrastructure; ensuring compliance with industry standards such as NIST, FISMA, and HIPAA; monitoring project progress and performance metrics; preparing comprehensive reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leadership.
