PTC Therapeutics Analyst, Business Analytics (Hybrid) in Warren, New Jersey

Job Description Summary:

The Analyst, Business Analytics position supports PTC's insights generation through the analysis of primary and secondary data for inline and pipeline products and builds and deploys Business Intelligence (BI) solutions such as reports and dashboards. As a member of the Business Insights Department, the focus of this role is to collaborate with other business functions to collect inputs and requirements, support development, implementation, and quality of advanced analytics and reporting to drive better and faster decision making
Data Stewardship will be a key part of this role. This will include ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency. As needed, collecting, collating, and evaluating issues and problems with data, including maintaining data documentation. This also includes supporting the user community by communicating issues to those who may be impacted.
This position will help the department identify, source, transform, and otherwise manage data assets and process flows used to render insights for decision making. He/she will partner very closely with the IT department, and work with departmental and cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and relevant KPIs.
The Analyst, Business Analytics is an integral part of an i-nteractive delivery team providing daily data updates to enable business leaders and other stakeholders to make high quality, evidence-based decisions. This includes leveraging data to provide visibility and actionable insights into business performance. He/she actively participates in BI projects, interfacing with the business, gathering requirements, and assists with building reports and dashboards by leveraging the cloud-based business applications (Power BI, MS Teams, etc).
This position works cross-functionally as necessary with several internal departments including but not limited to Global Marketing, Commercial Teams, Pricing & Market Access, Program Management, Information Technology (IT), Finance, Regulatory, Clinical, and Medical Affairs.
The Analyst, Business Analytics supports adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the generation of business insights from various data sources within PTC to support in-line and future sales analysis, projections, and business cases.
  • Supports monthly reporting processes through assisting with data/input collection, coordination, and organization, including development of web-based programs, MS Excel, and other data tracking applications.
  • Interacts with business partners to understand and recommend reporting/BI solutions that meet diverse, complex business reporting and analytic needs.
  • Experience in designing data visualizations (e.g., Power BI Dashboards) and building MS Excel models/tools is a plus
  • Designs and delivers end-user trainings and training materials for applications developed
  • Collaborates in the planning, development, and deployment of new data solutions, and evaluation and improvement of existing data solutions and dashboards
  • Provides analytical ad-hoc support. Supports marketing and sales efforts quantitatively through data analysis to reveal trends and by answering key business questions
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a highly dynamic and interactive business environment providing direct support to business users
  • Keeps abreast of emerging industry data sources, applications and techniques that could improve future analysis.
  • Performs other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in data analytics, information systems, computer science, statistics or related field. Other degrees in the science, social science or business disciplines that provide analytics/methodological training also qualify. Requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant business analytics experience in a corporation or consulting firm. The successful candidate will be a self-starter whose natural curiosity will drive him/her to look for answers beyond the assigned task.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel to analyze and transform data is essential to this role. Approximately 70 percent of the Analyst's time will be spent using Excel
  • Experience using/interacting with PowerBI or other business intelligence tools (Tableau, Qlik Sense) preferred - strong interest in learning new tools and software is key
  • Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, basic statistics, and implementing structured ways of analyzing business problems
  • Good understanding of uncovering data/analysis requirements, and analytical needs
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills including the ability to create and deliver clear and impactful data presentations, and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members
  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support multiple projects and self-prioritize tasks
  • Superb attention to detail

  • May require up to 20% domestic and international travel
  • Hybrid work schedule - 3 days in the office in Warren, NJ
