General Motors Vehicle DevOps Engineer in Warren, Michigan

Job Description

Our newly formed Infrastructure & Vehicle DevOps group is the critical connection between R&D and Vehicle Integration and Quality. Join a unique location where cutting-edge technologies meet the challenging vehicle architecture, building innovative processes to implement agile-based practices all the way to factory releases integrating large scale tooling. This group is leading the transformation of the dev and release process of the vehicle to bring the latest in DevOps practices to the vehicle industry.

The technical domains and ongoing work streams include software and hardware groups (research, development, and engineering) that work on the most complex issues and challenges facing the new mobility era. We shape the face of the future vehicles in diverse fields by developing cutting edge technologies.

As we grow, we keep on adding new areas and fields to explore and develop and have the clear vision of hiring the most qualified and brightest talents in order to excel on cutting-edge and non-traditional automotive technologies.

About the Group:

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report onsite at the GM Global Technical Center - Cole Engineering Center Tower at least three times per week minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

What will you do?

  • Design, implement, and manage CD/CT pipelines for automotive software Products.

  • Develop and deploy new tools on Kubernetes (K8s) platforms.

  • Write scripts and automation tasks using Python, bash and Groovy.

  • Integrate automation tools for running large testing, simulation both physical and virtual into vehicle release pipelines

  • Implement Automated Quality gates checks, complex vehicle version management systems, release proliferation support

  • Build modern release pipelines which incorporate dozens of vehicle ECU releases hardening, singing, scanning and continuous OTA verifications.

  • Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards. Implement DORA metrics across the Software organization for vehicle level dev. Velocity tracking

  • Collaborate with Dev. Groups, Vehicle Integration / Performance and Calibration teams, and testing teams to improve test automation, code coverage, and test data management.

Additional Job Description

Primary q ualifications and skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and container orchestration.

  • Proficiency in Linux, Python, and Groovy scripting.

  • Familiarity with cloud services aws and azure.

  • Proven experience in CI/CD pipelines development and management. Big emphasis on deployment and release pipelines for products to production env

  • Proficiency in using automation tools and frameworks such Robot, Android Emulator, Jenkins, Simulation tools.

  • Knowledge of automotive software standards and compliance requirements.

  • Strong understanding of test automation, requirements traceability, Implementation of Quality gates and DORA metrics

  • Experience with embedded systems and automotive software development.

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security testing tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

  • High level of Linux knowledge and expertise

  • High level of oral and written communication skills

  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a global organization.

  • Reporting to Israel based manager, Willing to travel aboard from time to time.

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington

  • Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is : $93,400 - $149,200 Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
