Summary About the Position: This vacancy exists within the office of the PEO CS&CSS. Positions will be specifically located in the PEO CS&CSS, TS. However, the referral list generated by this announcement may be used to fill future vacancies in the PEO CS&CSS & PEO GCS, with duty location at Warren, MI and/or Selfridge, MI. Responsibilities Supervises the work of subordinate Analysts and support personnel engaged in analytical work. Plans work to be accomplished, providing overall goals and objectives. Provides technical oversight and direction of assigned workforce involved in accomplishing project objectives. Identifies areas where guidelines are nonexistent exercising originality, ingenuity, balance, judgment, and professional competence in solving operational problems. Provides advice and information for projects dealing with all aspects of these areas to include weapon system cost estimating and systems analysis for the range of commodities that TACOM and the PEOs manage. Prepares and collaborates on comprehensive technical and scientific reports and briefings covering all phases of projects assigned. Education Requirement (IOR): Education must have been completed in a U.S. college, university, or other educational institution that has been accredited by one of the accrediting agencies or associations recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. A. Possess a Degree in Operations Research (Note: transcripts are required) OR B. Possess a Degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. (Note: transcripts are required) In addition to the basic education requirements identified above, applicant must also meet the specialized experience described below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience at the NH-03 level in the Federal Service which includes: (1) Utilizing a variety of mathematical, statistical, and information techniques to analyze program requirements; (2) Evaluating the purpose and configuration for assigned programs to identify cost factors and develop life cycle cost estimates; (3) Preparing and collaborating on comprehensive technical and scientific reports and briefings covering all phases of projects assigned. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 (or GS-13 equivalent).
