General Motors GM Defense Availability Analyst in Warren, Michigan

Hybrid This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Technical Center three times per week, at minimum.

The Role - Supplier Management team within Global Supply Chain is seeking a creative problem solver and risk taker that wants to impact the direction of the Supply Chain, internal and external customers. This opportunity requires candidates who are driven to translate customer requirements into action plans; fail fast and learn to ensure flawless execution for the customer. Success is defined by welcoming new challenges and innovating ways of thinking that craft future possibilities and drive effective decision making.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

Work with a one team mindset with members from Enablement, Supply Chain Management, GM Defense, Operations, Logistics, Purchasing, Service Engineering, Supplier Quality (PPAP) and Packaging teams to proactively drive effective business decisions supporting achievement of business goals.

Strategy:

  • Support the strategic development and execution planning required to support all new programs (Domestic, Mexico, Export or Defense product launches) of which service parts supply are required at or before the start of production and on an on-going basis

Execution :

  • Facilitate new model process oversight and execution necessary to set up parts in the system which allow for order placement, processing, and part availability with the contracted supply base.

  • Drive visibility and successful escalation of issues not meeting availability and or readiness timing deliverables.

  • Support order management from CCA facilities and suppliers to ensure production coverage.

  • Manage critical suppliers that cannot support EDI for the customer

  • Communicate and maintain metrics to identify trends and escalations

Escalation :

  • Serve as New Model Availability SME in meetings and workshops

  • Reimagine follow up and launch process/activities to support the vision of this business model over the next several years

Engagement :

  • Foster positive interactions with customers/partners and make recommendations for enhancements where appropriate.

  • Identify business strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement.

  • Be a champion of change for opportunities that motivate and result in effective business improvement. Live the See it, Own it, Do it, Solve it mindset

  • Assist in the development of Supply Chain Management tools, process and documentation that drive daily operations with a quality focused mindset

  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects with aggressive deadlines and visibility

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or relevant related field

  • 5 plus years relevant work experience not including internships and coop assignments

  • Competency in MS Office Suite and Power Bi, proficiency in MS Excel and Access

  • Working knowledge of Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing Operations and GAESO organizations

  • SharePoint, SAP

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Recognized ability to act with a sense of urgency to problem solve issues with an understanding of impacts to both internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrated interpersonal capabilities collaborating with multiple stakeholders who may have conflicting metrics and may ultimately require facilitating a compromise to reach the best solution

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge ( Preferred Qualifications)

  • CCA Supply Chain experience

  • IMS, Erapa-I, Erapa-NA, ECR, and EUC data familiarity highly desired
